Stephen Hawking, the famous physicist, was told he would lose half of his audience for every equation he used in his book, “A Brief History of Time.” But he included this anyway:

Similarly, today’s title could be “how to use discourse-pragmatics and information structure for Natural Language Understanding (NLU),” but that would probably lose the entire audience!
